機械加工によって出来上がった製品と図面寸法との間には、誤差が必ず発生してしまいます。
バリ取り･面取りは出来上がった製品を基準とするため、この誤差を考慮した加工を行う必要があります。
これを実現するためにクロイツが名づけた「フローチング機構」と呼ぶ、“カッターがワーク形状に自由自在にならって加工できる機構”を内蔵したホルダーを使用し、図面寸法よりも押し付けた位置でプログラムを作成します。

カッター本体がツール回転方向に捻りながら上下にフローチングするので、追従性が非常に高くなります。
そのため、工具先端角90°以下も選択ができ、さらに三次元的な加工姿勢が取れるので、小R角部や加工姿勢が限られる箇所へのアプローチが可能です。
